Welcome to another edition of the DVI newsletter, released a bit later than usual. But I wanted to make sure to send this out as there are some new developments for this weekend!

Local Vendor News
Merienda Monster is coming out of retirement/hiatus to bring us two pop-ups in October! Last time she posted was June of last year. For those who have not heard of her, she is famous for her ube conchas and other Filipino- and Mexican-inspired baked goods. There is no official post yet, but her story stated popups for the below dates and is looking for volunteers. If you’re interested, please reach out to her on IG.
October 18th in Dallas, 2 PM-10 PM
October 25 in Denton, 7 AM-10 PM
Vegan Heat posted a “transparency” post explaining that she will be moving out of the Revolving Kitchen in Fairview and looking for a new place to settle, where the prices will have to adjust accordingly, depending on location and rent. Secretly, I’m hoping she’ll settle somewhere closer to me!
Swirled Peace released a new flavor, Cinna-Swirled Churro.
Beyond the Bun just released their new September-October specials: Turkey Apple Cheddar Sandwich & Apple Cookie Shake.
Neitly Vegan Sweets and Frosted Vegan will be at The State Fair of Texas. Neitly will be there Sept 26-Oct 19. Frosted will be there Sept 28th.
La Combi-gotes food truck has their seasonal plate, Guaraches [sic] with a drink combo for $15.99! They are also changing their hours of operation.

🗓️ Upcoming Events
Festivals, Festivals, Festivals
You may have noticed, but these next two months are chock-full of vegan festivals!
The Poppin Vegan Presents: Vegan Day Party. September 20th from 12PM-6PM at Four Corners Brewery. If you’ve not heard of The Poppin Vegan’s events, they are similar to Vegandale but without the drama! Attendance is free and this is like their 4th time now in Dallas bringing the fun.
Dallas VegFest. September 21st from 11AM-4PM at Kiest Park. Cinnaholic - Arlington will be a new vendor there!
Reverie Fair Day: Market and Party. September 27th from 8AM-2PM at their Richardson brick and mortar. They are looking for craft vendors (apply here). There will be vegan corn dogs and other fair foods.
Fort Worth Veg-Fest. October 19th from 12PM-4PM at Blank Space FW. You can apply here as a new vendor or here as a returning vendor.
Vendor Pop-Ups
Bam’s Vegan is doing a pop-up at Epic Central in Grand Prairie this Friday, September 5th at 6PM-10:30PM for their Waterfront Market.
Vegan Heat will be at Pizza Verde next week, Monday through Wednesday from 2PM-8PM as their guest vendor.
Teo’s Plant Kitchen will be doing a pop-up at the Twilight Night Market at Four Corners Brewery. Get your “hoa-hoa-hoa” ready! IYKYK
Twistastic Bakes has a new pop-up calendar for September and October.
DVI Event
October brings cooler weather, which means it’s time for another trip to Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary in China Spring to volunteer! I’m shooting for Saturday, October 12th. If you’re interested in volunteering, please RSVP on Eventbrite.
💗 For the Animals
Audubon Texas is hosting a webinar on Friday, September 5th at 12 PM to discuss the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center renovation, in hopes that they utilize bird-friendly design to prevent bird strikes. Video detailing the situation. Webinar info.
North Texas Wildlife Center is asking followers on their post to nominate them for North Texas Giving Day by Scheels. They are giving away $5k to 10 non-profits, each. You can nominate them here.
CoPilot Animal Rescue is in need of dog food and asks to DM them for a link to their wishlist.
The artist, Soynoise29 (Zach Ewald), is dropping his latest punk album, Strike a Match, on September 6th. All proceeds go to Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary and Best Friends Farm. If you’d like to pre-order or wait until the release Saturday, please click here. I’ve already pre-ordered mine!

My Cake Alchemy
Meet Keerti of My Cake Alchemy. She’s a raw pastry chef who makes plant-based cakes that are organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, and more. She makes beautiful cake arrangement that are basically edible art! She is based in Northlake, and you can find her website here. Can’t wait to try her desserts!
