💗 Animals Welfare

The Trial of Zoe Rosenberg

If you've not been following this story, here's a quick recap. Zoe Rosenberg, 23, is an animal rights activist who is facing one felony conspiracy charge and four misdemeanor counts—including trespassing and theft—for a June 2023 night raid at Perdue's Petaluma Poultry, with fellow activists, to document the horrifying conditions. There she bravely rescued 4 chickens. She is facing up to five years in prison and has been required to wear an ankle monitor until her trial. The trial starts September 15 in Santa Rosa, CA.

Let me say that again. She's facing up to five years in prison for saving the lives of Poppy, Ivy, Azealia, and Aster. We live in a world where the chokehold of meat industry dictates that documenting the truth and saving four lives is a felony rather than the actual cruelty being perpetrated. They label her a terrorist. Prosecutors even attempted to impose a gag order so she couldn't plead her case in the court of public opinion. Luckily, the judge rejected such request.

We will see how the story unfolds next week. We only hope the best for her. You can see her documentary on Unchained TV here, or read a summary article here.

Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary

Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary is now running their Safe & Snug Cloven Heart Winter Fundraiser. They are hoping to raise 50K to build much needed shelters, freeze-proof the property, and provide the animals with winter items like heating pads. I know 50K is a lot to ask for, but any little bit helps and they've only raised $190. 😢 You can see their list of needs and current funding status here.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fundraise and spread the word, please let me know.
