October NewsletteršŸ‚

The newsletter that keeps its ear to the ground so you don't have to!

🌟 Editor's Note
Hi, everyone. It’s been a while. Some unexpected life things came up and that took priority. Seems like a lot of things happened while I was away, 😬But I’m back and ready to report on a few vegan events and news, even if they’re a little old.

šŸ”„ In Case You Missed It…

Local Vendor News
  • Belenty's in Fort Worth have made the decision close on Sundays once again, effectively ending their Sunday brunch.

  • Sunny Thai, which has locations in Mansfield and Arlington, now have a location in Cedar Hill! They are known for their vegan friendly protein options that include soy beef, chicken, and salmon!

  • Pizza Verde is offering a free pizza as one of the rewards for their loyalty program. If you haven't signed up yet be sure to click the link.

    • They are also now fully dine-in again, but with a limited menu while they train their staff. No pastas or sandwiches. They are also asking the public what products you’d like to see sold on the retail side.

  • Frosted Vegan can now be found at Everyday Works! Huge win for Dallasites because he has only been available at the Coppell Farmers Market.

  • Vegan Heat has changed addresses. She is no longer at Revolving Kitchen in Fairview, but she will be across the street. This is temporarily until she finds a permanent location. She is still doing a temporary residence at Pizza Verde as well and taking pre-orders for both locations.

  • La Combi-gotes food truck in Bishop Arts next to Black Swan Yoga is now closed on Mondays, the traditional unofficial Vegan Sabbath (🤣). Still haven’t tried them? Dallas Vegan Insider & Friends will going this Sunday around noon to show some support. Come join us!

  • Cinnaholic Richardson is back with pizza rolls for the month of October!

  • Swirled Peace has returned their matcha flavor to their lineup, a fan favorite.

  • Chopping Roots will be making the trip to Vegan Vibez food festival in Houston on October 19th, so she won’t be at the Frisco Farmers Market that weekend.

National News

Alamo Drafthouse continues to stay ahead of the pack as the most vegan friendly movie theatre. They dropped a new vegan plant-based menu item, Blistered Shishitos. "Oven roasted and tossed in orange gochujang and sesame seeds, served with vegan ranch." Can be found at all locations according to their online menus.

šŸ—“ļø Upcoming Events

  • Chef Frank May is only doing his sandwiches at Every Day Works on the first weekend of the month, like this weekend.

  • Las Almas PanaderĆa will be at Hemlock Haus Misfits Market this Saturday from 11-6 PM.

  • Best Thai’s monthly vegan buffet is this Sunday, 11-3 PM.

Calendars

Texas Animal Rights March (TARM)

The 2025 Texas Animal Rights March is coming up soon on October 18th! This will be in Austin. If you are interested, you can read more details here.

Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary

Their fundraiser has stayed at a complete standstill for two weeks. It ends October 10th, for a total of a one month run. From what I’ve heard, they may not be able to survive much longer as a sanctuary due to lack of funding. It is breaking my heart and I don’t know what else I can do from Dallas besides donate, or visit every few months with a group of volunteers. If anyone has ways to get this sanctuary trending to get them the much-needed funding, please let me know. Because I only have so much influence, sadly.

North Texas Wildlife

Backyard Bazaar at Ferris Wheelers this Sunday has a Meet & Greet with North Texas Wildlife for fundraising and collecting donations. If you are in the area or have any of the items below from the post, please stop by and drop them off to help the animals!

šŸ¦„ In the Spotlight

Cookie Lane & Co

Can’t believe I hadn’t heard of Cookie Lane & Co. until now. They are a transplant from Virginia to Texas as of late June. They offer vegan-friendly options and have done pop-ups recently at Bishop Bazaar. Quick disclaimer: They are not a fully vegan business, but they do offer a good variety, and all delicious.

Pop-Up Alert: They will be at Swirled Peace on October 11th from 5-10 PM as part of Swirled Peace’s mission to showcase and promote small local businesses. Stop by and give them a try! I may pop in after coming back from my Cloven Heart volunteer day.

šŸŽ”State Fair of Texas

For those who go to the State Fair, your fully vegan vendors options are:

  • Vegan Vibrationz (Nimitz Ave)

  • Neitly Vegan Sweets (Go Texas Pavilion)

  • All Y’alls Foods (Go Texas Pavilion)

The fair’s official site provides some additional vegan-friendly options like Dole and Mr. Ramen Fusion. And there is a vegan mac & cheese somewhere, but I’m unable to verify the name of the stand that has it...
