🗓️ Upcoming Events

Calendar Update
  • Reminder from last week: Chef Frank May will be at Everyday Works, outside of his normal 1st weekend of the month, on October 18th for Revival Run.

  • Las Almas Panadería won’t be at Fort Worth VegFest this time around, but will be at the Bestie Market same day in Dallas, along with two other markets for the rest of October.

Friendly Reminder: If you want to join a meetup/group event, links to the groups are in my Linktree.

What events will you be attending? I’d love to see some of you at VegFest, the trail, Bam’s brunch, and PCG’s dinner!

For Fort Worth VegFest, you can see all the participating vendors below:

💗 Animals Welfare

This upcoming Thanksliving season, consider giving back and sponsoring some beautiful turkeys from two nearby Texas sanctuaries! I had the pleasure of meeting them both and they’re just the cutest.

Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary - Meet Bob

Bob is a girl turkey who managed to escape a slaughter-bound truck and was rescued in 2019. Sadly, her toes and beak were already clipped as part of the cruel and standard practice of turkey farming. But now she gets to live her life free from harm at Cloven Heart. Please consider sponsoring Ms. Bob and her Bird Gang at the sanctuary. You will receive a sponsor card with info all about Bob.

The Zend - Meet Tanka

Tanka is a boy turkey who also escaped a slaughter-bound truck at 6 months old. Luckily, his claws and beak were still intact, and is now living safely at The Zend. He is now 3 years young! Please consider sponsoring Tanka for this holiday season.

🔎 DVI Recap

Thank You to the Volunteers

I wanted to thank the 24 volunteers who joined me at Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary this past weekend, and Las Almas Panadería for being our official dessert sponsor for the trip, so I made a little recap video of our experience.

I very much want to keep doing these every few months, so if you are interested, please let me know! There are talks about going in November as well, but unsure if it’s too soon for some and can conflict with people’s plans for the holidays. What do you guys think?

Thanks for reading,
